About usWorking within the Education and Inclusion department within Warrington Borough Council, the EAL service provides advice and guidance for schools, council teams and community services to enable them to support children and young people for whom English is an additional language. The team works to empower practitioners with the appropriate skill set to support EAL pupils and supports schools to be more inclusive, providing targeted support to EAL learners.The roleThe role will be varied and challenging. Whilst the role is primarily to develop support and resources to providers for early years and primary aged children, the successful candidate will be expected to work across all key stages and must have the skills to provide high quality training and be able to advise school leaders, teachers and assistants to support pupils in developing their English language and to narrow any gaps in their learning or experience.This is a part time post (19.5 hours per week) and is fixed term (initially until 31st July 2026). Secondment from an existing role will be considered.What's needed?This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the work of the EAL team as we continue to develop our service.
