We’re making remarkable progress and growing fast.About the roleAt Riverlane, we build new and advanced solutions to solve one of the hardest problems in quantum computing: quantum error correction (QEC). Due to continued growth, we have an excellent opportunity for a System Software Engineer to help us build and test components for our decoder IP, at the heart of Deltaflow (the world’s first QEC stack).This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Riverlane’s science teams (Decode) that is developing the world’s most advanced decoding algorithms.These algorithms are the beating heart of the QEC stack and are also used for cutting-edge research. The team is a mix of mathematicians, physicists and engineers, working together on a range of exciting and cutting-edge projects. We're creating something truly unique, complex and large-scale, so being comfortable with engineering to evolving specs is key. As such, you will be happy and excited to get hands-on quickly in areas outside your own expertise. You will thrive in a collaborative environment, work well with different people and be team-oriented.Prior quantum computing knowledge is not necessary - you will learn this along the way!What you will do
  • Build and test components for our decoder IP
  • Ensure correctness and performance through the creation of tests and benchmarks
  • Integrate our research solutions into our product
  • Develop a good understanding of our decoder technologies
RequirementsWhat we need
  • Proficiency with Python and C++
  • Curiosity to learn about new technologies, including quantum computing and quantum error correction
  • Ability to explain highly technical concepts clearly
  • Experience with standard development practises, such as source control (e.g. Git), continuous integration and unit testing
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people
