Location: West London (multi-site)
Salary: Up to £21.66 per hour DOEJob Type: Contract until November 2025Step into a leadership role where mechanical engineering meets purpose.Are you a qualified mechanical or building services professional with a passion for safe, efficient estate operations?Our client, based in West London, is seeking an experienced Estates Manager - Mechanical to manage and develop critical mechanical and water safety systems across multiple healthcare sites.Why join our client:You'll be part of a forward-thinking Estates & Facilities team responsible for providing compliant, safe, and cost-effective services that directly impact patient care and staff safety. This is a pivotal role with room to grow into senior management.Your responsibilities will include:

Operational oversight of mechanical engineering and water safety services across all London sites
Leading on statutory compliance, water hygiene (Legionella), ventilation, and medical gases
Acting as an Authorised Person across systems, including pressure systems, water, and ventilation
Managing outsourced maintenance contracts and internal personnel
Providing technical input on capital and minor works, commissioning, and asset lifecycle planning
Supporting risk management, budget oversight, energy efficiency, and infection control strategies
Participating in on-call duties for estate emergencies

What we're looking for:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (or HNC/HND with equivalent experience)
Proven experience managing mechanical systems, contractors, and water safety in a complex environment
Strong knowledge of NHS HTMs, HBNs, and compliance frameworks
IOSH or NEBOSH certification
Previous NHS or healthcare estates experience (desirable)
Driving licence and flexibility to travel across sites
On-call availability
Standard DBS required
