- Instruct, direct, control and allocate work to trade operatives and apprentices paying particular attention to quality, productivity and safety.
- Set out work as appropriate.
- Measure up for materials, respond to emergencies and changes in the work programme, acquiring essential plant and equipment.
- Record and authorise man hours/time sheets in accordance with laid down procedures.
- Obtain and record data for Health & Safety stats (near miss/lost time etc).
- Ensure the serviceability and security of all allocated plant and equipment.
- Where required manage toolbox talks, permits, review RAMS.
- Compile RAMS as per Company procedure for the required works.
- Assess tasks ensuring that appropriate certification and equipment is available.
- Ensure that all necessary administration work is completed and returned in accordance with Company and client procedures.
- Monitor apprentices to ensure tasks completed are delivered to the required quality of workmanship.
- Complete and deliver any required QA documentation.
- Identify any potential additional and future work while on site and pass on to the Project Engineer/Manager.
- Time served fully qualified in their relevant trade City & Guilds, MA or equivalent with relevant qualifications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Must be flexible and willing to travel.
- Full UK Driving Licence
