The unit consists of a fully automated 24/24 GEA parlour with auto feed feeders and backing gate. Cow housing is cubicles with a mixture of sand and mattress beds plus good handling facilities. DIY AI is carried out with spread block calving from August through to Feb. Cows are grazed with good track access to paddocks this together with grass/maize/whole crop semi-TMR feeding. Youngstock are reared both on the home site and an off lying unit some two miles away.The role is to relief milk for eighty days per annum and assist with the rearing of youngstock, together with general on farm duties.
