ROLE: Pastoral and Welfare OfficerLOCATION: LeedsStart Date: ASAP or September 2025Are you a Psychology Graduate aspiring to be an Educational Psychologist, Child Psychologist, Counsellor or SEND Co-Ordinator, but first needing experience working with young people?Do you have experience working within a SEN Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support role and are looking to progress within your career?I am recruiting for a secondary school in Wakefield who require a Pastoral and Welfare Officer to work within their pastoral and behaviour department.This post will involve supporting students from aged 11 years – 16 years, with a range of needs, including social, emotional, and mental health, behavioural challenges, and special educational needs. At times you will be required to work with students’ careers and external parties.You will support a cohort of students, helping to manage, welfare, behaviour, attendance, and attainment. You will work within a supportive team.The ideal candidate will have experience supporting young people with social emotional mental health challenges and/or special educational needs. Experience working within an education setting is preferred but all experience working with young people is considered.Contract Details:
  • Full time role (Monday – Friday).
  • Term time only, in line with the local authority academic calendar.
  • Working hours 8:30am – 4:15pm.
