You will likeDelivering mechanical small works projects from Leicester HQ for this Midlands regional mechanical & electrical contractor who over the last 20+ years have maintained a reputation for quality and attention to detail. They are in an excellent position currently and have a healthy pipeline, justifying sustainable growth.You will likeThe Mechanical Small Works Manager job itself where you will be responsible for the management and delivery of multiple small-value mechanical projects. These works typically range between £5k and £250k and include planned refurbishments, maintenance upgrades, reactive works, and minor installations. Scope includes, HVAC, plumbing, pipework, refurbishments from inception to completion.This role involves full project lifecycle responsibility—from initial quotation and client liaison through to delivery, completion, and handover—ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and profitably. More specifically:
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Prepare scopes, quotations, schedules, and method statements.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure all works comply with health & safety and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support and resolve any site issues.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Routes to progress are there for you to pursue and staff retention is extremely high so you will be able to develop meaningful relationships from your colleagues and collaborate and learn from them.You will haveTo be successful as a Mechanical Small Works Manager you will have proven experience in mechanical contracting, ideally in a similar small works/project manager role. Plus a healthy mix of the following:
  • Strong technical knowledge across HVAC, plumbing, and general building services.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to quote works confidently.
  • SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, or relevant H&S qualifications preferred.
  • Mechanical qualifications (NVQ Plumbing and Heating, Gas Safe)
