This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real impact by supporting pupils’ learning and development within a nurturing school environment.About the Role:As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with class teachers to provide targeted support to pupils across various year groups. The role requires a strong understanding of the primary curriculum, particularly phonics instruction, to help enhance literacy skills among young learners. You will be responsible for delivering phonics interventions and providing individual and small-group support to ensure all students can access the curriculum effectively.Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Deliver phonics interventions to enhance literacy skills and reading comprehension.
- Provide tailored support to pupils, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Support teachers in delivering the primary curriculum, adapting learning materials to suit individual needs.
- Assist with classroom management to create an inclusive and structured learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers to help inform lesson planning.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting confidence and engagement in learning.
- Assist children with additional learning needs, ensuring they receive appropriate support.
- Encourage and support pupils’ social and emotional well-being, helping them develop essential life skills.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and parents to support pupils’ holistic development.
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy.
- Phonics experience, including the ability to deliver phonics interventions to improve reading and writing skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate young learners, fostering a love for learning.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Strong behaviour management skills, ensuring a structured and supportive classroom environment.
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3) or equivalent experience.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
