- Comprehensive knowledge of Building / Construction methods
- Must have the ability to carry out general day-to-day property carpentry repairs.
- Sourcing timber by size, strength and budget for woodworking or joinery projects
- Assessing and reviewing additional carpentry or joinery refurbishments
- Performing finish carpentry including siding, flooring, and built-ins
- An understanding of Listed buildings and conservation techniques (desired but not essential)
- Function as an initiative-taking and positive member of the Maintenance team.
- Undertake a key customer interface role, particularly on key sites within specified geographical area, ensuring that the company is visible, approachable and that the entire delivery team clearly understands the contract requirements and measures.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation associated with the contracts within your span of control and company policy.
- Ensures Safe Systems of Work are followed.
- Works with the central Work Scheduling team to ensure effective scheduling of work takes place, which drives efficiency targets, KPIs and SLAs.
- Represent the Maintenance Team on Projects as required by the business.
- Develop strong working relationships with customers within the defined geographical area or account, ensuring that works completed are reviewed and feedback obtained, attending customer site meetings where appropriate.
- A minimum of an NVQ Level 2 in a Carpentry orientated qualification is required; an NVQ3 or equivalent City and Guilds is desirable but not essential.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with Tenants and all Estate Staff
- Manage time effectively as well as being able to work from verbal and written instructions
- Experienced in Statutory & Mandatory Compliance Maintenance Records / Certification and uploading onto Service Systems.
- A positive attitude and an ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Ability to work as a team member so that goals are met.
- Proven experience as a Carpenter across multiple projects and locations
- Knowledge and skills to effectively problem solve
- High level of self-motivation, organisational ability and drive to meet deadlines
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively create and deliver effective written reports and verbal presentations
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to positively influence delivery teams and customers
- Excellent knowledge of Health, Safety and Compliance legislation relating to the Buildings services industry
