The school aims to foster an inclusive learning environment where every student can reach their full potential.About the Role: As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide targeted emotional and behavioural support to students, promoting mental wellbeing, resilience, and positive social interactions within a safe and structured school environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with Autism and SEMH needs, promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and positive social interactions.
- Implement proactive behaviour management strategies within a therapeutic framework to support self-regulation and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, pastoral staff, and external professionals to deliver personalised interventions and monitor progress.
- Support students’ personal, social, and academic development by integrating guidance into daily interactions and learning opportunities.
- Maintain detailed records of student observations, progress, and interventions to inform ongoing support and planning.
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs, including those with Autism, in an educational or care setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and therapeutic approaches to support mental health and wellbeing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to implement proactive behaviour management strategies and support self-regulation in a therapeutic environment.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a commitment to delivering personalised interventions that promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
