Job Title: Project Environmental GeoscientistLocation: GrangemouthSalary: £28,000 - £32,000Type: Full TimeStart Date: ImmediatelyWe are looking for a Project Environmental Geoscientist in the Grangemouth area. My client has a proven track record in contaminated land and are looking for an enthusiastic individual with around 2 years’ experience to further their career and gain more experience in these specialist markets. This is an excellent opportunity to work in an exciting and challenging environment where new and unusual projects are the norm.Duties of a Project Environmental GeoscientistResponsibilities include:
  • Supporting senior staff to manage project deliverables and budgets.
  • Completing siteworks on a wide variety of sites to carry out surveys, site walkovers, supervise contractors, collect soil, groundwater, gas, and vapour samples, and air monitoring.
  • Soil logging to current UK standards, including laboratory scheduling.
  • Preparation of factual reports, Phase 1 desk studies, waste classifications, environmental risk assessments, and input into interpretative reporting.
  • The production of risk assessments and method statements.
Skills and experience of a Project Environmental GeoscientistAs a Project Environmental Geoscientist, you need have experience with:
  • Degree in Environmental Geoscience, Geology, or a related subject.
  • Knowledge of contaminated land legislation and reporting requirements.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Good verbal communication.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Working towards or a member of a Geoscience professional body, such
  • as Geological Society or equivalent.
  • CSCS Card holder (desirable but not essential – training can be supplied
  • if required).
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
