Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for a rewarding role in the Hathersage area. We're looking for someone to support a vibrant primary school's Early Years (Reception) and Year 1 classes, from September 2025 to October 2025.This school is a small, close-knit community where parents and the wider community work together to provide a supportive environment. This strong partnership helps to enhance the children's education and well-being. The school has been officially recognised for its high standards, holding an Ofsted rating of 'Good'.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Teaching Assistant, your role is crucial to the success of the classroom. You will be responsible for:
  • Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom management, and creating an engaging learning environment.
  • Providing one-on-one and small-group support to students, helping them to stay on task and achieve their learning goals.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere, motivating students, and helping them build confidence.
  • Implementing the school's behaviour policies effectively and using proactive strategies to support positive conduct.
  • Helping with general administrative duties, such as preparing resources and organising the classroom.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you must have:
  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant preferred, but not essential.
  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
  • The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A nurturing and patient approach to working with children.
  • A passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference.
  • First Aid training is preferred, but not essential.
