The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing the preparation of accounts and tax returns, and ensuring the highest quality of service delivery.Key Responsibilities
  • Client Portfolio Management:
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, including SMEs and large blue-chip organizations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Understand clients' business needs and provide tailored financial advice and solutions
  • Conduct regular client meetings to discuss financial performance, tax planning, and business strategies
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for additional services within the existing client base
  • Accounts Preparation:
  • Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards
  • Review and analyze financial statements, identifying areas for improvement or potential risks
  • Prepare management accounts and financial reports as required by clients
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures for accounts preparation
  • Tax Preparation and Planning:
  • Manage the preparation and submission of corporate and personal tax returns
  • Provide strategic tax planning advice to minimize tax liabilities for clients
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to clients
  • Coordinate with HMRC on behalf of clients for tax-related matters
  • Identify and implement tax-efficient structures for clients' businesses
  • File Review and Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of account files prepared by junior staff members
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to team members to improve the quality of work
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures for all client engagements
  • Participate in internal and external quality assurance reviews
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, including trainees and newly qualified accountants
  • Delegate tasks effectively and manage workloads within the team
  • Contribute to the professional development of team members through training and coaching
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery to clients
  • Participate in recruitment and performance evaluation processes for team members
