Are you an experienced and motivated Band 5 or Band 6 Occupational Therapist who wants to develop their skills and experience within a unique Therapy service working with the Community Mental Health Team? We'd love for you to join us in our Community Therapy Service in Great Yarmouth.The wider Community Therapy Service covers Great Yarmouth and Waveney, and although the base for this position would be Northgate Hospital in Great Yarmouth, there is an expectation that the postholder would offer clinical and leadership support to the Waveney side of the team, based at Victoria House in Lowestoft, if required. Both the Great Yarmouth and Waveney CTS is overseen by an Occupational Therapy Lead, and is made up of Registered Occupational Therapists, Peer Support workers, Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioners and an Art Psychotherapist. We work closely with our Nursing, MHP and Psychology colleagues in the wider CMHT to provide a holistic assessment and treatment service for Service Users in the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area.Main duties of the jobThe team is committed to delivering a range of recovery-focussed Occupational Therapy interventions. This is a protected Occupational Therapy role and the successful post holder will not work as a generic MHP care coordinator/lead care professional.The post-holder will;
  • Work with the Community Therapy Service and wider CMHT team to deliver Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions (1:1 and group), prioritising clinical needs and evaluating treatment to measure progress and ensure clinical effectiveness.
  • Ensure that clinical practice is person-centred, promoting the direct involvement of Service Users and carers in the development of treatment planning.
  • Monitor and maintain standards of Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Governance in accordance with local and Trust-wide Policies and procedures
  • Provide support and guidance, line management supervision and clinical supervision to less senior members of staff
You will participate in monthly team business and Governance meetings, deputising for the OT Lead where required.
