This, along with our commitment to our local communities, is what makes working at Puratos so magical.To strengthen our team in Puratos Fourayes, near Sittingbourne, Kent, we are looking for a:Technical Systems TechnologistSittingbourne UKYour MissionReporting to the Technical manager, the successful candidate will help us maintain our excellent food safety standards in our busy food production environment. This role requires a proactive, collaborative approach, attention to detail and a deep understanding of food safety in a manufacturing environment.What you will do
  • Maintain and monitor supplier and raw material approval systems.
  • Assist with supplier audits and manage supplier documentation.
  • Support internal audits (BRC, GMP, CCP, Hygiene, etc.).
  • Help complete and review product specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor supply chain risks and conduct horizon scanning.
  • Manage traceability schedules and customer documentation.
  • Support technical management during audits and customer visits.
  • Collaborate with departments like NPD and Purchasing.
What we expect from youThe ideal candidate would have:
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Food Science or related field.
  • 5+ years in food manufacturing or produce processing.
  • Knowledge of BRC, HACCP, food safety, and food legislation.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word/Excel).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience with technical specifications and audit support.
  • Training in HACCP, TACCP/VACCP, and auditing is a plus.
What you can expect from Puratos
  • £33,000 per annum.
  • 5% bonus scheme.
  • Core hours will be 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00.
