Help get better trained personnel to the front line fasterProject Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver “better trained sailors to the front line faster”.The IT Services Manager will be responsible for managing IT service delivery which supports the delivery of Royal Navy training from a variety of IT providers including MOD Defence Digital, Capita and our consortium partners including Fujitsu and Raytheon.This role will be Hybrid with the requirement to be in the Portsmouth office a minimum of 2 or 3 days a week.Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.Job title: IT Services ManagerJob Description:What you’ll be doing
  • Manage IT Providers: Oversee operational performance of IT partners, suppliers
  • Manage work provided internally by Capita teams
  • Ensure Contract Compliance: Make sure IT services meet the Royal Navy’s contractual requirements under the SOR 3.1 SR6.
  • Support IT Modernisation: Collaborate with change teams to ensure new IT services are fit for purpose and maintainable.
  • Align IT with Business Goals: Understand Selborne’s strategy to ensure IT services support operational and commercial needs.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for the Royal Navy, stakeholders, and IT providers on all IT operational and commercial matters.
  • Monitor and Report Performance: Manage service issues, ensure reporting against SLAs/KPIs, and support escalation during major outages.
  • Manage a small team
What we’re looking forEssential Skills/Experience/Qualifications
  • Proven experience in IT Service delivery across a distributed supplier landscape including the implementation and ongoing use of ITIL
  • Must have experience of delivering IT services in a defence/MOD environment
Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications
  • Experience of leading/managing a small team
  • Ability to manage a high demand workload and prioritise effectively in time-bound situations
About SelborneSelborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN.
