About Xodus Group & Evolv EnergiesPart of Xodus Group, Evolv Energies is at the forefront of major international projects where we bring a unique, integrated perspective and specialist engineering expertise to support offshore developers, investors and the wider construction and installation supply chain through Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design, and across Construction and Installation activities, predominately in relation to offshore wind, interconnectors and energy transition projects.Our Senior Geotechnical Engineer will have the ability to work on a variety of project scopes including, offshore wind (fixed and floating), and subsea cables (transmission and distribution) projects. You will provide technical expertise and support in the definition and delivery of geotechnical related requirements (including tendering) to support both our engineering and construction services projects.Primary Roles & Responsibilities include:
  • Complete geotechnical engineering aspects of tenders, studies and projects, with support from senior team members.
  • Evaluate the quality of available site investigation data for offshore renewables projects, and be capable of specifying and supervising site investigations when needed.
  • Interpret and use offshore site investigation data and be able to integrate results into ground models and derive parameters for the detailed design of subsea infrastructure
  • Undertake detailed design for the installation of gravity based, piled & suction installed foundations and subsea cables.
  • Use of limit analysis for estimation of collapse load for foundations subject to complex loading
  • Participate in offshore assignments, such as the supervision of offshore site investigations, foundation installation, and mechanical protection of products e.g. trenching & rock dumping works as required
  • Working effectively on several projects concurrently to deliver challenging targets.
  • Working collaboratively and proactively with our multi-disciplined engineering and project delivery teams.
Requirements
  • A hands-on approach, with a can do attitude and willingness work with a team at all levels.
  • Demonstrable surveying expertise with strong construction and operational knowledge, experienced in Marine and Offshore construction projects, operations and IRM associated with offshore wind and subsea cable projects. Additional experience with nearshore and HDD works would be a great addition.
  • Ideally Chartered and holding a relevant qualification in fields such as Engineering, Geology or similarly related discipline.
  • Competent in the use of full suite of current industry survey software and equipment.
  • Ability to plan and supervise own work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines and other operational requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding and experience of offshore site investigations, data integration & Geo-spatial modelling.
  • Complimentary expertise in the likes of route engineering, CBRA, GIS, site characterisation would be welcomed.
