- Alternatively, our Care at Home Service supports people across Fife to live safely and independently in their own homes. A key element of this is MECS - the Mobile Emergency Care Service. Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, MECS responds to urgent calls in the community, including falls, personal care, welfare checks, or when someone becomes unwell at home. MECS staff are trained to assess situations quickly, using specialised equipment, provide reassurance, deliver hands-on support, and escalate concerns to health or social care professionals when needed. Their work is vital in ensuring people receive the right help at the right time.
