To provide physiotherapy expertise for patients with a cancer diagnosis awaiting cancer treatment (prehabilitation) and following cancer treatment (rehabilitation).The post holder will carry out 1:1 assessments and interventions, and will lead the provision/referral into group physical activity programmes in a local gym setting. They work closely with our dietitian, and clinical support worker, the lead nurse for cancer, and teams in cancer specialties provided at Homerton.The post holder will also lead/deliver the physical activity programme in health promotion workshops to encourage patients to live well after a cancer diagnosis.Main duties of the job
  • To provide technically specialised support to patients and carry own caseload with defined clinical area, including complex conditions.
  • To carry out assessment of patients and maintain accurate patient records; use clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of evidence based practice to formulate appropriate rehabilitation plans utilising a range of treatment skills and options, which includes gym-based or home-based rehabilitation/prehabilitation
