Opportunity to manage people as well as projects.A leading pensions consultancy is seeking an experienced Pensions Consultant to drive operational solutions for prestigious DB and DC pension scheme clients across the UK. This is a key role for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with leadership, delivering high-quality client service while also mentoring and managing team members.You'll have the chance to influence strategic outcomes, shape client solutions, and contribute to business growth in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.Position OverviewAs a Pensions Consultant, you will lead the delivery of complex projects, working directly with pension providers, insurers, and public service schemes to design and implement administration operations, service improvement plans, and data management strategies that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their pension schemes.Responsibilities
  • Lead project delivery for DB and DC pension schemes
  • Design and deliver administration operations and service improvement plans
  • Manage GMP reconciliation, data cleansing, and benefit audit projects
  • Trustee training and operational change implementation
  • Governance, risk management, and benchmarking
  • Oversee and review work of junior team members
  • Provide training and mentorship to develop team capabilities
  • Build client relationships to secure additional work and revenue
Requirements
  • Must have the technical pensions knowledge, project management and consulting skills
  • Experience working in a consulting capacity.
  • A deep understanding of both DB and DC pension schemes, backed by up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations
  • A track record of success as a consultant or senior pensions administrator, with a hands-on approach and strategic mindset
  • Strong technical expertise in pensions administration, compliance, and governance
  • Confidence in interpreting complex data and reports, ensuring precision and clarity in every detail
  • Proven project management skills-organised, deadline-driven, and focused on delivering high-quality results
