We’re looking for an enthusiastic and presentable Waiter/Waitress to join our busy team at Route 74 Truckstop in Lesmahagow. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being part of a team that delivers great service with a smile, we’d love to hear from you!About the RoleAs a member of the waiting staff, you will:
  • As a Waiter/Waitress at Route 74 Truckstop, you’ll be a key part of our front-of-house team, helping to create a warm and welcoming experience for every customer who walks through our doors.
  • Delivering food and drinks from the kitchen to tables with a friendly, professional, and confident attitude.
  • Clearing and cleaning tables throughout the shift to maintain a clean, tidy, and inviting restaurant space.
  • Creating a positive atmosphere by being confident, outgoing, and a great team player, especially during busy service periods.
  • Operating the till and handling payments, training will be provided if you’re new to this.
  • End-of-shift cleaning duties, with the final hour of each shift typically focused on a full clean-down of the restaurant.
  • Working flexibly across a variety of shifts, including weekends, rota is released two weeks in advance to help you plan ahead.
  • Serving alcohol, so you must be 18 or over.
  • Supporting your team where needed, whether it’s helping with restocking, assisting customers or jumping in during busy periods.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Ideally have some experience in a waiting role but don’t worry if you’re new to it, full training will be provided.
  • Bring a confident, outgoing and approachable personality. Someone who genuinely enjoys making customers feel welcome.
  • Maintain a presentable and professional appearance at all times.
  • Stay calm and focused under pressure, especially during busy service periods.
  • Be a flexible team player willing to adapt to different shifts and support your colleagues.
  • Be 18 or over due to the sale of alcohol.
  • Till experience is a bonus, but not essential – we’ll teach you everything you need to know.
