Reporting to: Head of Finance
Contract: 6-Month FTC (potential extension)
Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 (flexible depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAPKey Responsibilities:
- Assist in the smooth integration of two centralised finance teams, ensuring continuity and minimal disruption.
- Map, document, and potentially redesign finance processes to improve control, efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Evaluate existing financial controls and implement improvements to ensure compliance, robustness, and audit readiness.
- Resolve complex balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate and clear aged items, collaborating with relevant teams to identify root causes.
- Drive process improvement initiatives across claims, debtors, and insurance-related tax.
- Support change management, including training for the centralised finance team.
- Collaborate across finance and operational teams to improve end-to-end finance processes.
- Support internal and external audit requirements related to the transition.
- Work closely with IT and Operations, ensuring alignment and minimal resistance to process changes.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting background with project delivery experience.
- Proven experience in process improvement, streamlining, and controls implementation.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data modelling, manipulating large datasets).
- Experience working with finance systems.
- Insurance/financial services experience highly desirable: claims control accounts, premium tax & debtors.
- Curious and inquisitive mindset - someone who challenges existing practices, asks the right questions, and drives meaningful change.
- Energetic, resilient, and comfortable working with large volumes of complex data.
- Ideally insurance experience, would consider financial services.
