- Take clinical measurements from patients as appropriate such as blood pressure, oxygen saturation, peak flow, pulse rate and rhythm, temperature, height and weight (body mass index).
- Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient interventions.
- Give accurate and appropriate information to patients within own competence.
- Ensure that anomalies are reported to a senior member of the clinical team.
- Notify a GP/Nurse of any significant patient issues.
- Ensure full and accurate recording in the patients computerised records.
- Carry out administrative tasks for example, but not limited to, call and recall activities and stock takes as directed by senior members of the service.
- An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
- Holds an ARTP Performing Spirometry Certification.

- 1. Minimum 1 years recent primary care and/or community health care assistant experience
- 2. Inclusion on the ARTP register at a foundation level
- 3. Knowledge of clinical governance issues in primary care
- 4. Ability to manage and prioritise workload
- 1.Knowledge of local and national promotion strategies, health policies and public health issues
- 2.Working with patients with diagnosed respiratory conditions.
- 3.Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
