CEO, Health Data Research Service - The Department of Health and Social Care (UK Government) & Wellcome TrustLondon, ENGThe health data research service (HDRS) was announced by the Prime Minister in April 2025 and will be a new Government owned company set up to deliver a world-class service that will transform access to the UK's health data. This is an ambitious and unprecedented initiative backed by £600m of funding from UK Government and the Wellcome Trust which will seek to make the UK's health data assets interoperable and securely available to researchers to support innovations in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease.The inaugural CEO of the new Health Data Research Service (HDRS) will be responsible for the creation and operation of a new government company (GovCo) set up to deliver a client centric service that will transform access to the UK's health data.The CEO will operate in a dynamic and high-profile environment to: design and launch a high performing service offer to customers; create a trustworthy and financially sustainable business model; work collaboratively with HMG partners to remove barriers to delivery; and build a strong foundation of patient and public trust and information security.The CEO will need to demonstrate strong strategic and commercial skills and experience in providing data services to a complex range of private and public customers.
