Job title: Avionic TechnicianLocation: RAF ConingsbySalary: £40,087What You’ll Be Doing:Performing maintenance and inspections on aircraft avionics assemblies, components, and installations during scheduled servicing, repairs, and upgrades. Ensuring all work complies with design specifications and adheres to the requirements outlined in relevant technical publicationsCarrying out a variety of maintenance tasks, including stripping, repairing, modifying, removing, installing, and functional testing of components, with appropriate supervision as neededActing as a first or second signatory, enabling you to perform the duties of a qualified TechnicianWorking confidently with approved maintenance instructions and schedules for both planned and unplanned tasksReading and interpreting engineering drawings, completing necessary paperwork, and preparing work for inspectionFollowing diagnostic procedures effectively and providing on-the-job training and guidance to team membersPotentially authorised to self-certify a range of complex maintenance tasksYour Skills and Experience:Essential:Relevant industry or military equivalent apprenticeship completion/qualification (e.g City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent)A minimum of 2 years recent Fast Jet technical aircraft experience within the aircraft maintenance environmentStrong knowledge and a solid understanding of quality procedures, processes, specifications, and Approved Maintenance Organisation standards (MAOS MIL Pt145)Excellent team player and communicator with strong motivation, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt and develop in dynamic situationsDesirable:Technical maintenance experience working on Typhoon aircraftTyphoon Aircraft “Q” qualificationExperience in supervision and leadershipStrong knowledge of Depth Maintenance documentationComprehensive understanding of Typhoon avionics systemKnowledge of Resolve and raising System EnquiriesBenefits:As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.Join the Typhoon Maintenance Facility Team!We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team at the Typhoon Maintenance Facility (TMF) at RAF Coningsby.In this role, you will collaborate with the Royal Air Force (RAF) to undertake a key position in the maintenance, repair, and upgrade activities for the UK Typhoon fleet.
