HMP Five Wells is a category C resettlement prison based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, and houses around 1,780 patients aged 18+. Within this role you will be working collaboratively with the mental health team to develop the psychologist services on site, and manage 2 Assistant Psychologist. In addition you will have a small caseload of patients with complex mental health needs. Hourshours can be worked between Monday to Friday- 08:30 to 16:30SalaryThis position is part time role working 22.5 hours per week, youll receive an annual salary up to £62,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.How will we support you?Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkRegional and national career development opportunitiesOur bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needsSupport from the wider teamCandidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.Main duties of the jobAs a Psychologist, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Support the IMHT with assessment and interventions for complex patients, offer consultation/reflective practice to the team and clinical supervision to the assistant psychologists
  • Undertake psychological assessments, supporting complex multi-disciplinary formulations and delivering psychological interventions for cases of great complexity.
  • Be required to utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service. You will support the integrated mental health team in the overall development of the availability of evidence based therapies.

  • Satisfactory completion of a British Psychological Society accredited Doctoral Level postgraduate professional training course in clinical psychology
  • Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical/forensic/counselling psychologist for a minimum of 3 years post qualification.
  • Experience of highly specialist psychological assessment and individual and group based treatment of clients across the full range of care settings
