- Provide expert clinical advice and leadership in the development and implementation of effective care pathways for pregnant women and birthing people.
- Drive improvements in health outcomes by addressing inequalities in all aspects of care.
- Lead the implementation of the midwifery strategy, ensuring high-quality, inclusive care for women and their families.
- Collaborate with various departments and health professionals to deliver evidence-based practice and best possible care.
- Oversee the Public Health Core20PLUS5 agenda and work alongside local services to ensure equitable and responsive care.
- Proven experience in a senior midwifery role with a strong focus on public health.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and implement strategic initiatives in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to the highest standards of professional behaviour.
- NMC Registered Midwife
- Experience of leading and developing services within an NHS Trust.
- Extensive and current clinical experience of caring for women in pregnancy
- Experience of staff appraisal
- Experience of training staff
- Substantial recent experience of working at a senior level either within the acute, primary or educational sector.
- Masters Degree in relevant subject or demonstrable evidence of working at this level
- Demonstrate a track record of developing multi professional clinical practice and patient services.
- Evidence of innovation and change management
- Is capable of leading substantial organisational change and must be able to generate commitment to change
- Understanding of, and the ability to, apply principles of evidence-based health care.
- Capable of translating the vision for Public Health Services and the specialist midwifery workforce strategy into effective organisational policies, objectives and clearly defined tasks.
- Understand change management processes
- Understands the principles of system level working and the direction of travel in the wider NHS
- NMC Registered Midwife
- Experience of leading and developing services within an NHS Trust.
