
Maintenance Engineering Manager

- Oversee and manage a team of maintenance Engineers and technicians, providing support for Extrusion processes, and support the team development through regular one-to-one meetings, identifying training needs and growth opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and any missed activities are promptly rescheduled, as well as ensuring compliance to maximize equipment reliability and uptime, coordinating and documenting all the activities using the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Manage and coordinate on-site contractors, ensuring full compliance with legal, safety, and company standards.
- Act as a technical lead for factory services, including water systems, material handling systems, sprinkler systems, and PLCs, to ensure all buildings, plant, and facilities are maintained to a high standard and are fit for purpose, supporting and coaching engineers where required, providing proactive solutions when issues arise, and acting as the go to person for technical issues which cannot be resolved.
- Collaborate with the wider Management Team to drive and actively promoting continuous improvement initiatives and best practices (5S, Lean Six Sigma projects, Daily Performance meetings etc.) that enhance plant reliability, performance and operational efficiency, through data analysis, focusing on metrics such as Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and establishing and managing clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Lead the introduction of new machinery, plant, and equipment—from specification and supplier management through to full installation—working closely with all relevant stakeholders.
- Provide maintenance and improvement support to the Warboys site, ensuring appropriate resource allocation.
- Foster a culture of safety, performance, and development by investing in workforce training and building a high-performing, accident-free team, ensuring all maintenance and development activities comply with best practices, Health & Safety legislation, and the Environmental Management System, and that the site meets Aliaxis’ Global Standard requirements by participating in ‘Visible Felt Leadership’ and ‘Safety Excellence Forum’ programmes.
- Control and manage the maintenance budget and forecasts, including Capital Expenditure proposals, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and in compliance with legal requirements and implement strategies to manage and optimize expenditure.
- The ideal candidate is a time-served apprentice or professionally qualified Engineer or Technician, with minimum 5 years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role within an engineering or maintenance environment.
- Strong background in both electrical and mechanical systems, including industrial automation, PLCs, control panels, fire systems, sprinkler systems, cooling towers, chillers, and compressors is required.
- Proficiency in the use of IT systems and software relevant to engineering and maintenance operations are required, in particular proven experience in managing Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is fundamental.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and departments are very important.

- Established and proven technical problem-solving skills are fundamental to enable quick decision making in a manufacturing environment.
