🕒 Full-time | Long-term contractCarmichaelUK is looking for an Experienced Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to join a tier 1 contractor in delivering heavy civil engineering works at the Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth. As the preferred supplier for this high-profile defence infrastructure project, we are seeking a skilled professional to take a leading role in the management of complex temporary works.The RoleYou’ll work within the engineering and design team, responsible for the coordination and safe implementation of all Temporary Works across one of the dockyard’s major ongoing projects. This includes managing the full design lifecycle, ensuring compliance with client and legal standards, and mentoring junior team members.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate Temporary Works between site teams and designersReview and manage Temporary Works design briefs and submissionsOversee the full lifecycle of Temporary Works from design to decommissioningLiaise with multiple design housesEnsure site implementation aligns with approved design detailsConduct site inspections and issue TW permitsSupervise and support Temporary Works SupervisorsEnsure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standardsSupport the commercial and regulatory aspects of temporary works deliveryMentor and provide practical support to less experienced team membersRequirementsDegree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (BEng, MEng, BSc, etc.)Working towards or holding Chartership with ICE, IStructE, CIOB, or similarExperience delivering Temporary Works on major infrastructure projectsStrong knowledge of reinforced concrete, formwork, falsework schemesFamiliarity with Temporary Works management procedures (BS5975)Desirable: Design/engineering management experience and knowledge of structural steel buildingsMust be eligible for BPSS/SC security clearance (NATO passport holder, UK resident for 3+ years)
