This includes significantly investing in technology, streamlining the way we work and creating an environment where colleagues feel engaged, empowered and accountable; where they can show up, speak up and perform - because we believe in the difference our work makes.At a glance:Location: Cirencester OfficeWorkplace Type: HybridEmployment Type: PermanentSeniority: AssociateMain Purpose of Job:The Communications Planning Specialist is responsible for supporting the Head of Corporate Communications day to day - bringing clarity and a calming 'can do' approach to this dynamic and fast paced environment.Working closely with our Head of Communications Planning also, you will have the opportunity to support and maintain our holistic communications plan, which is vital to inform, engage and motivate our SJP community (employees and partnership) to deliver on our business strategy.What you'll be doing:
  • Support the development and the embedding the overarching corporate communication strategy for the function.
  • Plan and organise communication meetings and team meetings, preparing all agendas and ensuring objectives and actions are documented and met.
  • Collaborate across SJP in the capturing and sharing of communications plans to build cohesion and drive proactive stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain key outputs for the Head of Corporate Communications and Head of Communication planning, such as: The Comms and engagement calendar - across all audiences and Corporate message house and key programmatic messages
  • Bring exceptional attention to detail to all tasks and responsibilities, as there are usually a fair few balls to juggle.
Who we're looking for:You will need to be a pragmatic problem solver, a trusted tactician and most importantly, a true team player. This role touches the whole team and lots of senior stakeholders - so we need someone who is passionate about helping the Head of Corporate Communications to build a welcoming, warm and inclusive environment.Essential Criteria:
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meetings, and deliverables in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality across communications materials, reporting, and operational outputs.
  • Collaborative and team oriented approach, with the ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with senior stakeholders and colleagues across the business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Teams, and Project Online, with a willingness to learn additional systems such as content management platforms.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience or understanding of corporate communications or internal engagement strategy, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
  • Knowledge of SJP's culture, values, and audience segmentation, or a proven ability to quickly develop insight into stakeholder needs and organisational context.
Special Requirements:
  • Out of hours may be required for reactive, unforeseen circumstances and cyclical business events.
