This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high-performance university sport environment, supporting student-athletes and the wider King's College London community.You will be expected to liaise closely with other members of the performance team, including performance managers, strength and conditioning coaches, sports psychologists, and nutritionists, to ensure a holistic and collaborative approach to athlete support.In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will act as a co-Practice Educator for pre-registration Physiotherapy students on placement within King's Sport & Wellness. This will involve supervising patient consultations, providing both formal and informal feedback, and leading clinical reasoning sessions to support student development.You will be supported in your role by both the King's Sport & Wellness Performance Team and individuals from the Physiotherapy Academic Team.We are seeking an individual to join us 1?2 days per week (7?14 hours), with flexibility in scheduling. Ideally, the successful candidate will be available on Thursdays and/or Fridays.This is a flexible, part-time opportunity, ideal for someone looking to work with athletes and performance programmes in an applied, collaborative, and supportive environment.The successful candidate will create a positive, responsive and productive relationship with the dual career athletes, the coaches, other support staff and King's Sport & Wellness.Experience / Skills
  • Registered with the HCPC and CSP, with a strong commitment to upholding professional codes of conduct, standards, and safe autonomous practice.
  • Proven ability to independently deliver evidence-based physiotherapy assessments, diagnoses, and multimodal treatment interventions.
  • Demonstrable experience working with high-performance athletes, ideally within university performance programmes.
  • In-depth knowledge of functional anatomy and the ability to demonstrate expert-level clinical reasoning in complex cases.
  • A strong patient-centered ethos, grounded in biopsychosocial principles and supported by effective use of behaviour change techniques in athlete and patient management.
  • Experience working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT), including performance managers, strength and conditioning coaches, psychologists, and nutritionists.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to diverse audiences including athletes, students, and healthcare professionals.
  • Experience supervising and supporting pre-registration physiotherapy students, including patient supervision, feedback, and leading clinical reasoning discussions.
  • Competency with online exercise prescription and digital record-keeping platforms, with a willingness to lead on implementation to enhance service delivery and education.
  • A proactive approach to improving service delivery through engagement in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
