Due to project timelines, only candidates available to start immediately or on short notice will be consideredWe are seeking an experienced Senior Testing Specialist to join a high-profile Synapse migration and platform modernisation project for our client in Central London. This is a business-critical role, requiring a hands-on professional with a proven track record in data migration testing, ETL validation, and Azure-based solutions.You will be instrumental in ensuring data integrity, performance, and compliance throughout the migration process, working closely with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver a robust and successful transition.Key Responsibilities:
- Design, document, and execute detailed test plans for the Synapse migration.
- Perform large-scale data validation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Validate ETL processes and confirm functionality of data dependencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, document, and resolve defects.
- Maintain clear documentation of test outcomes, issue tracking, and resolution logs.
- Validate security and access control policies, ensuring compliance throughout migration.
- Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct performance testing to confirm system scalability and stability post-migration.
- Extensive experience in enterprise-level data migration testing.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modelling, and data pipelines.
- Expert SQL skills for complex query writing and validation.
- Proven expertise with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
- Solid understanding of data transformations and source-to-target validation.
- Exposure to integration, exploratory, and performance testing methodologies.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with third-party vendors.
- Performance tuning and query optimisation experience.
- Python scripting for test automation.
- Familiarity with Visual Studio, C#, xUnit, Azure DevOps (ADO), and Git.
- Power BI experience, especially in repointing reports to Snowflake.
