Location: Leytonstone, East LondonA well-resourced and creative secondary school in Leytonstone is looking to appoint a dedicated Design & Technology Technician from September 2025 on a temporary, term-time only basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with practical skills and a passion for supporting hands-on learning in a school environment.You will work closely with teaching staff to support the delivery of DT lessons across areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, and Graphics, ensuring that equipment, tools, and materials are prepared, maintained, and safely used by students.Key Responsibilities:Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for DT lessonsMaintain, clean, and organise machinery and tools (e.g., saws, drills, 3D printers)Assist in lessons, including demonstrations of tool use and safetyMonitor stock levels and order consumablesEnsure all health and safety protocols are followed, including risk assessments and COSHH complianceThe ideal candidate will:Have experience in a workshop, DT department, or similar practical settingBe confident using hand tools and machinery (training can be provided)Be well-organised, safety-conscious, and proactiveWork effectively both independently and as part of a teamHold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBSWhy join us?Supportive and creative Design & Technology departmentWell-equipped workshop with up-to-date tools and technologyOpportunity to develop school-based experienceExcellent transport links — 5 minutes from Leytonstone Underground Station (Central Line)
