Pay: £90-£100 per dayProtocol Education is working in partnership with a well-established SEND school in Shrewsbury to recruit a dedicated Artistic Youth Worker. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in the arts, drama, or creative therapy to bring their skills into a purposeful and rewarding setting.The school takes a holistic approach to learning, supporting pupils with complex needs including autism, SEMH, and behavioural challenges. All students have an EHCP, and the school provides a calm, structured environment with individualised support plans in place.The Role:As an Artistic Youth Worker, you’ll work both 1:1 and within classroom groups to support student development through creativity. You’ll help pupils engage with learning, express themselves, and build confidence using artistic and sensory-based approaches.Key responsibilities:
- Supporting students’ emotional and educational development through creative strategies
- Using drama, music, art, or movement to help pupils communicate and stay engaged
- Collaborating with teachers and support staff to deliver personalised learning plans
- Promoting a positive, inclusive classroom culture
- Helping pupils regulate emotions and participate meaningfully in daily routines
- Has experience or qualifications in the arts, drama, creative therapies, or similar
- Has worked with children or young people with SEND, particularly ASD and SEMH
- Is adaptable, empathetic, and confident in dynamic environments
- Brings creativity and care to every interaction
