Location: Leytonstone, East LondonA dynamic and supportive secondary school in Leytonstone is seeking a Science Technician to join the Science department from September 2025 on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in science who enjoys working in a school environment and supporting practical learning.Working closely with teaching staff, you will ensure the smooth operation of practical Science lessons across KS3 and KS4. This includes preparing and maintaining equipment, managing stock, and ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and set up materials and equipment for practical science lessonsAssist teachers and students during practical workMaintain and clean apparatus and laboratoriesMonitor and replenish stock and chemicalsEnsure adherence to health and safety procedures, including COSHHThe ideal candidate will:Have previous experience in a school science lab or similar settingPossess good knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics equipment and proceduresBe organised, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a teamHave strong attention to detail and excellent communication skillsHold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS
