Manufacturing Process Engineer
PeterboroughOverview:We are currently working for a pioneering business who are seeking an experience Manufacturing Process Engineer to work at their facility in Peterborough, the role will be involved in driving operational excellence and making a real impact on manufacturing performance. Due to the expansion of our clients team this is a great opportunity to work in a Manufacturing Process Engineer capacity to support our client deliver world-class processes, innovation, and efficiency across our operations.What you’ll be doingAs a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will:
  • Take ownership of designated processes, driving efficiency, quality, and throughput improvements.
  • Identify and eliminate waste while embedding continuous improvement (CI) practices.
  • Lead or support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring smooth integration into production.
  • Support Capability Acquisition (CA) by implementing new technologies and processes.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation such as flow diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans, and SOPs.
  • Champion standardization and compliance to quality and operational standards.
  • Initiate and manage shopfloor improvement projects with clear scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Monitor and analyse production KPIs to support data-driven decision making.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Technical, and Quality teams to align improvements with wider business objectives.
What we’re looking for
  • Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing, Process, or Chemical Engineering (experience in leather or textiles manufacturing is a bonus).
  • Skilled in structured problem-solving (Root Cause Analysis, A3, 8D, Six Sigma, DMAIC, or PDCA).
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
  • Proficiency in process control and built-in-quality tools (PFMEAs, control plans, capability studies).
  • Ability to apply statistical analysis techniques (Minitab or similar software experience desirable).
  • Proven project management skills, leading independently or in cross-functional teams.
