- Develop, implement, and maintain a practical data governance framework aligned with FCA regulations and industry best practice.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to embed governance processes that deliver value and efficiency.
- Support the migration of data from legacy platforms to our new cloud-based Microsoft stack, ensuring data quality, lineage, and accessibility.
- Own and drive policies on data ownership, classification, retention, and access management.
- Leverage Microsoft Purview and related tools to implement governance, cataloguing, and compliance controls.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements, addressing data risks proactively.
- Promote a culture of accountability, data quality, and innovation across the organisation.
- Provide subject matter expertise to projects, change initiatives, and regulatory reviews.
- 5+ years' experience in a Data Governance Manager (or equivalent) role, ideally within financial services or another FCA-regulated environment.
- Proven track record in building and embedding data governance frameworks and controls.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft data technologies (Azure, Purview).
- Strong knowledge of data management best practices, including data quality, metadata, and lineage.
- Practical understanding of regulatory requirements impacting data in financial services.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior business and technology partners.
- Pragmatic and innovative approach-able to balance compliance needs with business efficiency.
- Comfortable working independently in a build-out phase, with appetite to grow into a leadership role as the function scales.
