Location: Gravesend, kent
Contract Type: Full time
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier by mutual agreement)
Salary: Competitive, based on experienceRole Summary
The SEN Teaching Assistant will support students with a variety of needs, including Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Working closely with our SENDCo and teaching staff, the successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access learning and thrive both academically and personally.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-class and small group support to students with identified SEND.
  • Help implement and monitor individual learning plans (ILPs) and EHCP targets.
  • Use a range of strategies and resources to support differentiated learning.
  • Support pupils emotional wellbeing, promoting confidence and independence.
  • Assist with assessment, record-keeping, and liaising with parents/carers.
  • Contribute to the inclusive ethos and positive learning environment of the school.
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who is:
  • Passionate about working with young people with additional needs.
  • Calm, adaptable, and resilient with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable about SEND and inclusive strategies (experience desirable but not essential).
  • A team player who can also work independently with initiative.
  • Discreet, professional, and committed to student welfare and safeguarding.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential if you bring the right mindset and commitment.Why Join the school?
