- To provide SLT specific assessment, formulation, and care/treatment planning for a designated caseload using evidence based/person centred principles.
- To monitor and evaluate SLT treatment plans and interventions in a variety of settings.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records in line with data quality guidance, legislation, and policy.
- To work flexibly to meet service requirements.
- To work within the professional codes and conduct and Trust/Directorates Policies and Procedures.
- To be personally responsible for maintaining professional HCPC registration
- To contribute to the maintenance of a safe environment in accordance with Health & Safety legislation.
- Degree
- Registered member of HCPC and RCSLT
- Post graduate accreditation in dysphagia management
- Further training in mental health
- In-depth knowledge of dysphagia assessment and therapeutic interventions /management for adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health difficulties
- In-depth knowledge and skilled use of communication assessment and therapy applications relevant to client group
- Evidence of ability to manage specialist caseload independently and prioritise tasks appropriately
- Flexible approach to working practice
- At least 2 years' experience working as an SLT
- Experience of working with adults with mental health needs
- 1 years' experience of dysphagia practice
- Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
- Experience of working with autistic clients and people with learning disabilities
- Involvement in the development and delivery of training packages
- Commitment to client-centred practice
- Ability to travel independently between sites to meet service needs
