- 12 packaging lines with many varied SKUs, and complex syrup processing equipment.
- Approximately 20,000 tonnes throughput per annum of high value sugar base products that are distributed to customers in the UK and worldwide
- 30 million units of syrup products per year
- 2000 tonnes of small packet dry sugar and sweetener products per year
- Meet or exceed energy and water index whilst ensuring zero accidental sugar losses to sewer
- Operation of plant in compliance with all SHEQ standards including thorough knowledge of the dangers of bulk chemicals (e.g. acid, salt, carbon, soda, filteraid, resin) and the associated product and environmental risks.
- Achievement of required processing volume whilst maintaining process specifications such as brix, colour, pH, ash, hardness. Control of process critical control points and process inputs (syrup and chemical.)
- Perform testing and maintain test records for traceability.
- Perform sampling and maintain water quality and records for process utilities such as the cooling tower, steam boilers and water softeners.
- Providing flexible cover for the Process Shift Supervisor.
- Preparing flavoured syrup/sauce blends by recipe against required specification.
- Loading of bulk and return tankers and blending of process ingredients to recipe, ensuring hygiene standards.
- Controlled material release of all syrup products by filter & visual check of which under 'concession' is minimised by maintaining tight specifications.
- Adherence to BRC and customer standards with accurate recording of operational data.
- SHHEQ standards and records understood and maintained for product traceability and audit requirements.
- Control of retained retail pack samples and customer bulk samples, for traceability exercises.
- Thorough knowledge of all syrup packing lines and utilities on site for hygiene, routing of lines, routine testing & trouble shooting.
- Be actively involved with the sites Continuous Improvement Program by monitoring and driving triggers
- Liaise with internal stakeholders
- Must possess good prioritising, analytical and team working skills.
- Supervisory experience beneficial.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take responsibility for making decisions which can have a major impact on production, flexibility, labour & costs.
- Good computer skills especially MS Word & Excel.
- High level of numeracy & literacy.
- Ability to provide basic holiday/sick cover for the Plaistow Shift Supervisor.
- Detailed knowledge of complex process operations.
- High level of proficiency in the SAP system to include: Inventory, C of A, & production modules.
- High level of proficiency in the Truck Scale system to include weight variance, picking & assigning.
- CI capability/experience
- GCSE ‘A’ level standard, preferably in Chemistry and/or another science.
- Worked within a FMCG/Food Manufacturing organisation
- Educated to HND
