
Speciality Doctor in Paediatrics- Developmental

- The post holder will be expected to provide a Specialty doctor level of medical cover to the Childrens Wards, Paediatric Assessment Unit, Special Care Baby Unit, Delivery Unit, and Postnatal Ward as required.
- Supervise the FY1, FY2, GPST, clinical fellow or equivalent grade doctors in clinical and medical managerial tasks.
- Provide senior paediatric medical support to other departments such as Accident and Emergency, Surgery and Anaesthesia as required.
- Planning, implementation and dissemination of research in acute childrens services.
- Undertaking all work in accordance with the Health Boards procedures and operating policies.
- Maintenance of core clinical expertise in paediatrics.
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Participating in annual appraisal and job planning including audit.
- To conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements within the parameters of the acute childrens services and Health Boards agreed objectives.

- Full GMC Registration
- MRCPCH or Equivalent
- MBBS or medical equivalent
- APLS (or equivalent)
- NLS (or equivalent)
- At least 3.5 years post-graduate experience with a minimum 2 years in Paediatrics
- Neonatal experience
- Experience in a level 2 or 3 neonatal unit at Middle grade/Registrar level. Previous clinical experience of Child Protection cases
- Minimum 12 month NHS experience
- At least 4 years post-graduate experience with a minimum 2 years in Paediatrics
- Good communication skills
- Good team worker
- Flexible attitude
- Basic IT skills
- Microsoft Office or equivalent
- Hold a current and in date valid driving license or provides an undertaking to provide alternative means of transport when providing emergency and domiciliary care to fulfil the requirements of the whole training programme
- Experience of hospital pathology/radiology information systems
