Our client is a newly established residential care company with a focus on family and children. Currently, we operate one small residential children's home in Walsall, with plans for expansion in the future.Job Description:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to join our team and lead our residential care services for children. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in senior or deputy roles within children's residential homes and a passion for making positive changes in the lives of children and young people. The Registered Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered, leading and guiding the care team, and working closely with other managers and the Responsible Individual to continuously improve service delivery.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the care team to ensure the highest standards of care for children and young people.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential home, including staffing, resources, and facilities management.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child, with a focus on promoting their well-being and development.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including those set by Ofsted.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment for both staff and residents, promoting a culture of empathy, trust, honesty, integrity, compassion, and safeguarding.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, professionals, and families to support the holistic needs of the children and young people in our care.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
Skills & Experience Required:Essential:
  • Previous experience in a senior or deputy role within children's residential care settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and other complex needs/challenging behaviours.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a relevant position within the last 5 years.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role, including staff management.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent qualification.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality care and upholding ethical standards.
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
  • 'Good' or 'Outstanding' grade within recent Ofsted inspections.
  • Hold a current UK Driving Licence.
