Job Title: Nursery PractitionerLocation: BrightonSalary: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Full-time, Long-termDo you believe the early years are where the magic of learning begins? GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join an outstanding nursery school in Brighton that prepares children beautifully for their primary school journey. This setting combines the wonder of early childhood with purposeful preparation for Key Stage 1.About the Role: Working with children aged 3-5 years, you'll create rich learning experiences that build the foundations for reading, writing, and maths while nurturing curiosity, creativity and confidence. You'll help children develop the skills they need to thrive in Reception and beyond.Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan exciting activities that develop pre-reading, pre-writing and early numeracy skills
  • Create language-rich environments that prepare children for primary school
  • Use forest school principles and outdoor learning to enhance development
  • Observe and assess progress using the EYFS framework with school readiness in mind
  • Work closely with parents to support smooth transitions to primary education
  • Collaborate with local primary schools to ensure continuity in children's learning journey
Job Requirements:
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
  • Understanding of child development and school readiness indicators
  • Experience preparing children for transition to primary school
  • Creative and nurturing approach to early years education
  • Strong communication skills with children, families and colleagues
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
