SEND Teaching Assistant (TA)

September 2025 - OngoingWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant junior school in Leeds. This is a TA position, offering support across the whole school on a 1:1 and small group intervention basis. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils with a range of additional needs, providing tailored support to help them thrive in their learning environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver focused 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils with SEND.
- Provide flexible support across different classrooms and year groups as required.
- Assist with personal care needs in a sensitive and respectful manner.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to implement individualized learning plans.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to regular reviews and meetings.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages pupil independence and confidence.
- A flexible and adaptable team player, willing to work across the whole school.
- Experience supporting children with a variety of additional needs.
- Confidence and sensitivity in assisting with personal care tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A proactive and patient approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
- Previous experience in a similar SEND TA or support role is desirable but not essential.
