
Pharmacy Higher Level Support Worker

- To maintain an up to date broth test and hatch transfer validation in order to be able to work in the aseptic suite.
- To prepare cytotoxics, monoclonal antibodies and other aseptic products on a day to day basis in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- To ensure that handling and storage procedures are strictly followed for cytotoxic/aseptic medicines and that any spillages are cleared in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Cleaning of isolators on a sessional basis.
- To assist in the Quality Control and Quality Assurance of aseptic preparation area according to standard operating procedures
- Sound Education background GCSE or equivalent
- NVQ 2 pharmacy services or equivalent
- Previous experience of working in a hospital aseptic unit or licensed sterile manufacturing facility
- Ability to work to Standard Operating Procedures accurately and in a timely fashion
- Manual dexterity in order to draw up accurate volumes using syringes & needles
- Ability to work in confined places such as a pharmaceutical isolator
- Accuracy/attention to detail
- To have a positive attitude and the ability to recognise and embrace new ideas
- Ability to work and communicate well within a team
- Ability to recognise limits of own competencies and to refer and seek advice from colleagues
- Ability to work in an organised and calm fashion in a busy environment
- To be courteous with all customers, both internal and external, including members of the public and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner (verbal and written)
- Keeping accurate and legible records
- To have basic keyboard/computer skills
- To participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas on a rota basis
- Ability to travel between sites
