10pm – 6amJob DescriptionEnvironment / Health / Safety: Compliance with EHS adherence to safe working operating procedures from the perspective of their own safety and safety of their work colleagues.Product on time delivery: Responsible for the build of the product to the manufacturing plan.Product Quality:
- Responsible for the build quality of the product in line with the standard operating instructions.
- May be required to assist in the training of others.
- Implement where instructed, process improvement actions that will result in sustainable productivity improvements without impairing product quality or delivery performance or safety.
- Make proposals that you feel will deliver improvements and savings in line with GE processes and policies using the Employee Ideas Scheme.
- Working to APS practices follow routine maintenance schedules and cleaning plans for workstations, jigs and fixtures.
- Highlight any issues to the Production Support Engineer/Coordinator.
- As and when required, support any other duties that may be required to support the manufacturing facility.
- Be adaptable to all future business requirements.
- Good general standard of education with confirmed educational qualifications
- Significant experience in the light mechanical assembly environment or similar. Electrical/electronic qualifications may be an advantage.
- Mandatory EHS Compliance with GE Life Saving Rules.
- Safe working practices within the workplace.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- Understanding of ‘Lean manufacturing' techniques would be an advantage.
- Understanding of Kanban & Flow / Pull Techniques would be an advantage.
- Mechanical / Electrical aptitude would be an advantage.
- Requires manual handling expertise.
- Able to work to standard written operative procedures.
- Effectively communicate within the team.
- Interpretation of diagrams, drawings and Schematic details required. Be able to adapt to the use of Touch Screen technology and IT skills.
