Are you a passionate, driven Sous Chef or Senior CDP looking to take the next step in your culinary career? At the Station Tavern, we are on the lookout for a talented Sous Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team. As Sous Chef, you'll play a crucial leadership role in the kitchen – helping to lead the team, run services and contribute to a menu that constantly evolves with dishes that reflect our love for creativity and seasonality. You’ll also be comfortable leading the team a couple of days a week, or when our Head Chef is on annual leave. In return we can offer heaps of development opportunities and a chance to progress - the majority of our Head Chef appointments are internal and we have a number of pubs in Cambridge – so if head chef is your aim then we will support you on that journey.The Station Tavern is a lively, modern pub located right next to Cambridge Station – a local hub for fresh, seasonal British food and welcoming hospitality. Our open-plan kitchen is the beating heart of the venue, and our food offer is a big part of our business so If you're ready to make your mark in a kitchen where your ideas are valued and no two menus are the same, we’d love to hear from you.What You'll Do:· Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations· Lead, inspire, and develop a full team of chefs· Take a hands-on role in service, prep, and stock control· Contribute to menu innovation using fresh, seasonal ingredients· Uphold food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen standards at all times· Manage all aspects of the kitchen in the absence of the Head ChefAbout You:· Confident, calm, and experienced in a busy kitchen environment· Passionate about British food and seasonal cooking· A natural leader and team player· Organized, with good communication and time management skills· Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong CDP ready to step upWhy Join us?
