Job descriptionOur client is a growing national construction company supplying specialist services to the water industry, the Environment Agency and a broad range of private clients, holding 20 Framework agreements nationally. They are looking to recruit a Senior SHWEQ Advisor for their Wales operations. This is an exciting Safety, Health, Wellbeing, Environment and Quality opportunity at a progressive and inclusive water industry contractor.Reporting directly to the Senior SHWEQ Advisor, the post-holder will assist in the continual improvement of Safety, Health, Wellbeing, Environmental and Quality by providing advice and guidance to the business. You will work in line with theier core values whilst promoting a positive and collaborative culture.Duties and Responsibilities:- The provision of professional SHWEQ advice and hands-on support to the regional delivery teams.- Carry out site, depot, and facilities inspections.- Contribute to the continuous development of SHWEQ Policies and Procedures.- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis and preventative actions.- In collaboration with the SHWEQ and Compliance Advisor, conduct Management System auditing.- Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to internal projects.- Promote a positive SHWEQ culture and industry best practise.- Contribute to SHWEQ working groups, committees, and forums.- Coach and mentor regional delivery teams.- Support the Behavioural Safety Programme.- Deliver proactive on-site SHWEQ training.- Carry out contractor audits, reviews and approvals.- Attendance and contribution to client and third-party seminars, whilst obtaining learning and development opportunities for the business.RequirementsEssential Skills And Experience:- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).- Possess the skills to compose user-friendly risk assessments, policies, and procedures.- Ability to work as part of a team or independently to problem solve.- Ability to prioritise a fluctuating workload using task management skills.- Full clean UK driving licence and a willingness to travel UK wide with some overnight stays.- A good communicator with the ability to engage with employees at all levels.- Organised, focused and self-determined.- Possess a positive attitude and be committed to high levels of care for people.- Strong IT and presentation skills.- Collaborative site inspection experience, using pragmatic solutions to overcome challenges, shortfalls, and recognise good practises.Desirable Skills And Experience- Experience of supporting behaviour and cultural programmes.- Membership of professional body (IOSH, IIRSM, IEMA)- NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management.- Keen interest in the environment and sustainability.- Management systems auditing.- Experience gained within a construction setting.- Water industry, natural environment, grounds maintenance experience.- Water safety experience.- Train the trainer or coaching and mentoring skills.
