- BSc (Hons) or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of CPD in specialist area
- Masters degree or masters modules
- Wide ranging and extensive experience of working within specialist area
- Experience managing staff performance and sickness, participation in recruitment processes
- Experience in evaluation of evidence-based practice, audit, service development and benchmarking; use of outcome measures
- Experience of training and supervising students
- Excellent written, non-verbal and verbal communication skills
- Communicates complex patient related information effectively to patient, family and MDT where there may be barriers to understanding
- Offers constructive criticism with tact and diplomacy, in performance management of staff
- Demonstrates leadership ability
- Able to assess complex information, formulate a diagnosis and plan patient management using clinical reasoning skills and a range of treatment options
- Able to solve problems within the team and make decisions where there are a range of options - including clinical and strategic issues
- Able to assess and manage risk in own area
- Able to organise and prioritise individual and team workload
- Effective delegation and time management skills
- Able to handle and move complex patients safely and in a way which promotes rehabilitation if applicable
- Able to travel to required areas within and beyond the Trust
- Undertake out of hours duties as required.
