At Sovereign Network Group (SNG), we're one of the largest housing associations in the country - with a clear social purpose and a commitment to making a real difference in our communities.The RoleWe're looking for a Strategic Policy and Research Lead to play a key role in shaping and maintaining SNG's policy frameworkYou'll be based in our office in Basingstoke or Wembley, combining both office and home working to ensure a positive work / life balance.Reporting to the Strategy and Performance Manager, you'll combine policy expertise with research and analytical skills. You'll lead on policy governance, guide policy owners through the lifecycle, integrate legacy policies into a single framework, and provide insights that inform decision-making at the highest levels.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong experience in policy, governance, or regulatory roles who is looking to make a real impact.Key Responsibilities
Lead the integration of legacy policies into a consistent, accessible SNG policy framework.
Provide expert advice and support to policy authors, ensuring compliance, consistency, and alignment with corporate objectives.
Conduct research and analysis to support evidence-based policy development, translating sector and regulatory trends into actionable insights.
Maintain the corporate policy catalogue, ensuring version control, timely reviews, and effective communication across the business.
Collaborate across teams to strengthen our governance framework.
Provide coaching and training to policy authors, building capability across the organisation.
What We're Looking For
Experience in a policy, governance, compliance, or regulatory role within a complex or regulated organisation.
Strong knowledge of the full policy lifecycle.
Skilled in policy research and analysis, with the ability to interpret legislation and sector standards.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Familiarity with digital document management systems and collaboration tools (e.g. SharePoint).
Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion in policy development.
